High-poverty elementary schools are defined as those schools in the top 58 percent in terms of the percentage of students enrolled in the school who qualify for the free or reduced price lunch programs. Low-poverty elementary schools are defined as those schools in the bottom 26 percent in terms of the percentage of students enrolled in the school who qualify for the free or reduced price lunch programs. High-poverty secondary schools are defined as those schools in the top 45 percent in terms of the percentage of students enrolled in the school who qualify for the free or reduced price lunch programs. Low-poverty secondary schools are defined as those schools in the bottom 22 percent in terms of the percentage of students enrolled in the school who qualify for the free or reduced price lunch programs.
